                                                            Hebbat Allah

The idea of sinking this ship originated in the minds of Red Sea Association quite some time ago to elevate the pressure on already heavily used reefs of Hurghada and to refresh Hurghada’s image as an attractive dive area of Red Sea.

Hebbat Allah was an old cargo ship sitting for some time on a sandy patch just in front of Sindbad hotel. Thanks to kindness of it owner Mr Mohamedi Hoeidek, who had donated this vessel to the Red Sea Association, Hebbet Allah was, on the 7 th of November 2004 sunk in the El Arouk Giftun area. The entire operation took place due to help from the Governer of the Red Sea, HE General Saad Abo Rida and under direct supervision of Egyptian Navy.

Hebbat Allah is 51 m long, 8 m wide and is for wreck diving with its holds and superstructure which is an excellent condition. It presently rests at 44 m on its keel with its bridge at 25 m. The Egyptian Diving Federation did set up some rules on diving this wreck. The diver has to have a level of training of CMAS*** or equivalent, at least 100 logged dives and only one dive per day is permitted on this wreck for any given diver.

This is the first of artificial reef project in the Red Se.a

Depths: from 25 m to 44 m
